Accreditation is non-governmental, peer evaluation of educational institutions and programs to ensure educational effectiveness. At the university level, accreditation makes Cal Pole eligible for the federal funds that support a variety of programs, including student financial aid, and for the academic credit that we award to be recognized by other institutions. At the program level, accreditation is conducted by professional organizations and demonstrates to potential employers that students are prepared to enter that profession.
