GE and Advising Go Green

Take a look around campus this fall, and you may see students carrying dark green recyclable bags with the GE and Cal Poly Advising logos. The GE Links to Learning logo represents a major goal for the program: collaborating with faculty, students, and student affairs staff to promote the integration of learning at Cal Poly. The Cal Poly Advising logo addresses students with the overarching message Graduate on Time, and also lists It's Up to You steps for students to take in order to achieve their graduation goal. The first recommendation for students: It's Up to You to see your advisor.

Cal Poly students show off their new
bags at El Corral

With the help of El Corral, over 2700 promotional bags were distributed this fall and additional dispersal is planned for winter and spring quarters. The project was a joint venture with the Advising Council, General Education, and Academic Programs. The Advising Council meets regularly to address student issues and find ways to provide effective outreach.

Ask for a green bag at "The Advisor Is In" booth this quarter on campus.  Pick up a student success brochure or a guide to advising resources.  For more information, visit the web sites for Advising and GE.
