WASC Interim Report

Cal Poly and WASC - Issues for the 2015 Interim Report

Each accreditation cycle lasts for ten years.  Cal Poly successfully completed the previous accreditation cycle in June 2012 but is now required to produce an Interim Report by March 1, 2015, as requested by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.

The content of the interim report was determined by the WASC team and communicated to
Cal Poly through the WASC Commission letter PDF submitted to President Armstrong on July 3, 2012.  There are two main areas of focus in the report.

1. ASSESSING AND IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING

WASC recommends Cal Poly to continue the types of assessment projects they have been conducting to support and better understand student learning and achievement.

2. PROMOTING DIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVE EXCELLENCE

WASC recommended that this area would be the main focus of the report, noting Cal Poly's efforts to increase and retain student and faculty diversity, work on bridging achievement gaps, and enhance the campus climate to support student success.
